Do I own land on the Moon?+
No. Plots are fictional digital spaces on our map. You buy digital placement and customisation rights governed by our Terms. No real lunar land is sold or transferred.
Why exactly one million plots?+
The Moon's surface is divided into exactly 1,000,000 equal-area map cells of roughly 38 km² each. When all are sold, the map is complete.
What do I get for $1?+
One virtual plot with a permanent ID and public page, the right to name it, add a message, image, flag and footprint, a downloadable certificate, and a shareable link.
Is the lunar map real?+
Yes. Imagery comes from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LROC) and elevation from LOLA, via NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio. Region names follow the IAU gazetteer. The plot grid on top is fictional.
How long does my placement last?+
Placements do not expire while the service operates. If it ever closes, we will give at least 90 days' notice and publish a free static archive of the whole map. We do not promise perpetual hosting. See the Terms.
Can I get a refund?+
Yes, within 14 days of purchase if you haven't published customisations. See the Refund Policy.
Why are some plots unavailable?+
Historic landing sites such as Apollo 11 and Apollo 17 are protected heritage zones and are never offered.
